A Legacy of Love: Carlos Aaron Corro’s Story
This year, the Resilient Foundation had the privilege of being part of a story that shows how love and family can bring comfort in life’s most difficult moments.

Carlos Aaron Corro, a 32-year-old Venezuelan, was a faithful member of his church and a passionate singer. His life took a drastic turn when he was diagnosed with advanced throat cancer, which claimed his voice and ability to sing—a gift he had used to glorify God.
While receiving treatment in Dallas, Texas, Carlos faced his illness with extraordinary courage. Yet his greatest wish wasn’t about his own recovery—it was to reunite with his mother, whom he had not seen in years due to her inability to leave Venezuela.
When Carlos’s mother secured a humanitarian visa to visit him, we stepped in to support her journey. Thanks to donations from people like you, the Resilient Foundation covered the cost of her flight, making it possible for her to be by her son’s side during his final days.
Despite the pain and the advanced stage of his illness, the reunion brought immeasurable joy and peace to Carlos, his wife, and his mother. It was a moment of healing and love, a reminder of the importance of family and togetherness.
Four days after this heartfelt reunion, Carlos passed away. Though his absence leaves a void, we find solace in knowing he left this world surrounded by love, having fulfilled his dream of being with his mother.
Carlos’s story is a testament to the power of compassion and generosity. It reminds us that even in the darkest moments, we can create light by standing with families in need.
This year, your support has made stories like Carlos’s possible. Together, we are bringing hope and comfort to those facing unimaginable challenges.
Let’s continue this mission of love. Every donation helps us write more stories of resilience and grace, ensuring that no one faces their battles alone.
